Bloodwork

Bloodwork is an important diagnostic tool that reveals health information about patients.

Think of a blood test as a magnifying glass. One of the best ways to get a better picture of what’s going on in your pet’s body is by testing their blood. Our fully equipped in-house laboratory allows us to quickly and efficiently diagnose and treat any underlying conditions your pet may be experiencing. Through their blood, we can analyze the best way to ensure your pet stays and feels their best. To learn more about your pet’s blood work, call us at 604-885-2309.

Are blood tests important for my pet’s health?

Bloodwork allows us to diagnose any hidden or underlying diseases your furry friend may be experiencing on the inside but not showing on the outside. It’s routine for our veterinary team to request a blood test during your pet’s annual wellness exam, which is why it’s important to not miss one. Blood tests can reveal any allergies, parasites or diseases that may be causing discomfort or pain to your pet. The earlier we catch what’s going on, the better chance we have at preventing it from getting worse.

How can I prepare my pet for a blood test?

Before you bring your pet in for their blood test, our team will walk you through the best way to prepare for their bloodwork. Typically, your pet might need to fast for 6 to 12 hours before they have their bloodwork done to get more accurate samples and results. It is also important to keep them well hydrated as dehydration may affect the results. Before and during the procedure our team will do our best to make sure your pet feels safe and comfortable.
